Renew Vehicle Registration

When renewing a vehicle registration online, a PIN is required to complete your transaction, which can be found on your renewal notice that was sent to you through the US Postal Service. If your renewal notice has a "stop" sign on it, the vehicle registration does not qualify for online renewal. Half year renewals and apportioned vehicles are not eligible for online renewal.

In addition to cash or checks, credit and debit cards are accepted (Service Fees Applied) To pay in person, come to:

By Mail

If you choose to mail your payment, make sure that you have the proper U.S. Postal Service postmark date.

Drop Box

Payment by drop box can be made at the Story County Administration Building. The drop box is in the window directly east of the main entrance. 

**When paying by mail or drop box, always use a check.**
