  • 75% cost share for soil and water enhancement
    • Tree plantings, timber stand improvement, windbreaks, conservation cover
• Agricultural Conservation Easement Program – Wetland Reserve Easement (ACEP-WRE)
  • Helps restore and protect wetlands which had previously been degraded due to agricultural uses
• Prairie Partners (PP) (Iowa DNR)
  • 50% cost share to purchase prairie seed

• Iowa Habitat Access Program (IHAP) (Iowa DNR)
  • Landowners receive funding and expertise for habitat improvements
• U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service – Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program
  • Landowners receive cost-share and/or guidance for habitat improvement projects including prairie, wetland, and/or oxbow restoration projects
  • Cost-share can often be combined with other funding sources

• Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship
  • Funds available for windbreaks, tree planting, grassed waterways, planting native perennials, etc.
  • Funds are also available for a specific water quality wetland referred through the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program.
• Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI)
  • PFI offers technical support and cost-share for prairie strips and precision conservation. They will reimburse farmers and landowners for the costs of seeding, establishing and maintaining prairie strips.
