Story County Conservation (SCC) is in the beginning steps of an update to the Story County Trails Master Plan (Plan). This plan will make recommendations for future improvements and connections to the existing trail systems.

Development of a comprehensive trail plan is a critical step in achieving the goal of enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The Plan will outline strategies for the creation, improvement, and maintenance of trails throughout the county, catering to a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, biking, birding, and more.

Several in-person Open House events are planned to gather feedback from communities across the county. Those unable to attend in person can take our online survey. Your responses will help the planning team learn about your trail preferences, usage, and priorities.

OPEN HOUSE MEETINGS:

This info can also be found on our Events Calendar

These events will allow community members to contribute ideas, concerns, and suggestions regarding the county's trail system. Residents, outdoor enthusiasts, stakeholders, and anyone interested in the development of the trail system in Story County are encouraged to attend and participate in discussion.

Meetings will follow an "open-house" or "drop in" style, with no formal program. Participants can come and go as they please to share thoughts and ideas. County officials and representatives from the planning team will be present to answer questions and provide information about the planning process.

SCC encourages all interested individuals to participate. Together, we can create a vibrant and accessible trail network that enhances the quality of life for all residents!
