How many of your buildings use geothermal for its heating and cooling?
We have three buildings utilizing geothermal: the Human Services Center, the Justice Center, and the Administration Building. Our most recently updated Community Life Building uses a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling system. For more information, please visit

What is geothermal and how does it work?
A geo exchange heat pump uses the earth's geothermal heat to keep the building comfortable year-round. In the winter, it transfers usable heat from the ground or groundwater into the building. In the summer, it cools the building by reversing the process.
