The Story County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for its very first Junior Citizen’s Academy. The three hour session classes (9:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.) begin on Saturday, June 23, 2012 and continue on Saturday mornings for six weeks, with a break over the weekend following July 4th, 2012. The sessions include presentations from Administration, Support Services, Field Services and the Jail Division. Topics include patrol operations, investigations, firearm safety, hostage negotiations, drug investigation and much more. There is no cost to participate and each morning the students will be provided an 8:30 a.m. continental breakfast.
