The Story County Board of Supervisors is the legislative, policy-making, and administrative branch of county government. The Board is responsible for adopting and updating ordinances, setting the annual county levy rate, certifying the annual budget, overseeing the budget, guiding the strategic direction of the County, and other matters related to the health and welfare of Story County and its residents.

The Story County Board of Supervisors will begin meeting with individual departments and offices on Monday, January 27th to go through their request fiscal year 2026 budgets. The budget worksessions will be available for public viewing in-person or on Zoom. All worksessions take place in the Public Meeting Room on the second floor of the Administration Building in Nevada.
