As a courtesy public notice, the Story County Environmental Health Department would like to inform you that the Iowa DNR has received an application for the expansion of a Confined Animal Feeding Operation in Story County.
The proposed location is Section 27 of LINCOLN Township.
The parcel involved is: 04-27-200-250
Address: 14167 720th Avenue
Iowa DNR regulates animal feeding operations to protect surface and groundwater resources. All operations must follow some regulations when land applying manure or when building a new structure or expanding an existing operation. Generally, regulations differentiate between the type and size of operation, and the type of manure storage that is used. The DNR understands the capacity for the proposed facility will be greater than 500 animal units, but less than 1000 animal units. This size of operation does not require a DNR animal feeding permit and therefore does not require a Master Matrix review by Story County.
Copies of the application materials and manure management plan are on file and may be viewed in the Story County Environmental Health office located in the Administration building (515-382-7240).
Permitting of animal feeding operations is administered by the DNR (not the county). Questions regarding the permitting of this facility should be directed to:
