The exploratory phase project to assess the current state and potential future management of the Hannum’s Mill Dam on the South Skunk River has begun! Story County Conservation is working with Houston Engineering to facilitate the assessment of the dam, receive public input regarding the dam, and to develop conceptual plans for the low head dam. Public input is being solicited to identify what is important to the broader community through two public meetings and an online survey.
Events include:
Introductory Public Meeting – July 30, 2019 6-8PM, McFarland Park (56461 180th St., Ames, IA)
Online Survey – Available pre- and post- Introductory Public Meeting (July 15, 2019 – August 7, 2019)
Public Meeting to review conceptual designs – Stay tuned for the date
Your feedback about what is important to you and the community, will help guide how the site is managed in the future by Story County Conservation. Responses to the online survey will be anonymous and your name will only be used for follow-up if you noted questions or concerns in your responses.
