[ARCHIVED] Ames Triathlon to Use Area Roadways, Ada Hayden north parking lot

The Story County Board of Supervisors considered and approved a Special Event Permit on April 16, 2019, for the Ames Triathlon occurring on June 30, 2019, starting and finishing at Ada Hayden Park, 5205 Grand Avenue, Ames, IA 50010. 

Start Time 

Race starts at 8 AM. Bike race starts at approximately 8:05.

Race Course

The route is south of Ada Hayden on HWY 69, west on Bloomington Road, north on George Washington Carver, west on Cameron School Road, north on 500th Avenue, east on 170th Street, south on George Washington Carver, east on 190th Street, south on HWY 69 to Ada Hayden Park. None of the roads on the race course will be closed during the race. See course diagram below.

Ada Hayden Park Impacts

The north parking lot and north boat ramp will be closed for the triathlon from 6:00am to approximately 11:30am and should be avoided during this time. The entrances at Harrison Rd, Hyde Ave, and Dawes Dr. near Calhoun Park along with all trails will be open.
