Beginning on Monday, April 30, 2012 through Friday, October 26, 2012, Story County Planning and Development will have extended office hours Monday through Friday. Our office will be open from 7:00 AM through 5:30 PM; however, no inspections will be scheduled after 5:00 pm.
With these extended hours, County Planner Charlie Dissell will be unavailable to the Public each Wednesday and County Planner Ryan Newstrom each Friday. The Public is encouraged to call ahead and schedule appointments anytime the need arises to meet with an individual staff member.
This is the second year that Story County Planning and Development will be extending summer hours for the public. In 2011, Story County Planning and Development extended hours Monday-Thursday. After the positive response received from the Public last year, the decision was made this year to include Fridays.
About Story County Planning and Development:
The Story County Planning and Development Department is responsible for approving plans, issuing permits, performing inspections, planning, and making zoning recommendations for the unincorporated areas of Story County.
Story County adopted the first zoning ordinance in 1958. The department is responsible for managing the County Development Plan and the Land Development Regulations. These two documents govern how property can be divided and the uses that are allowed on property in the unincorporated areas of Story County.
