Get Outdoors Day!

Spend a fun summer Saturday in the park with us! 

Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities for all ages as we celebrate National Get Outdoors Day at McFarland Park. Activities for all ages will be provided by Story County Conservation and various local partners, offering a chance to enjoy nature, learn about conservation, and connect with the community.

• Scavenger Hunt
• Paddling
• Minnow races
• S'mores station & snow cones
• Fire Making – put your primitive skills to the test! Give starting fire a try using only flint and steel
• Face Painting
• Touch-a-Truck - with skid steer, tractor and UTV
• Pollinator planting and bee keeping information
• Story County Animal Shelter
• Ice cream stand

Pack your favorite lawn chair or picnic blanket and prepare to enjoy the fresh air. It’s a perfect day out for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a good time!
