    We’ve created an online family challenge that will take you from your home and into your county parks, and it kicks off May 28! Summer is almost here and we want to encourage you to get outside and explore, have some fun, and gain points while doing it! Here’s how to play: 1. Download the GooseChase app (it’s free!) 2. Create your team name 3. Search for Story County Step Out into Summer 4. Start earning points by completing missions to win a $50 gift certificate to JAX Sporting Goods! Sign-up starts May 15, and the challenge begins May 28. New missions will be posted each Friday. your team will have until July 5 to complete as many missions as you can.

  2. Waterbugs: Wild Water Camp

    Explore the wild, muddy, squishy world of water. Campers will learn how water connects us all as they discover Story County ponds, wetlands, streams, and rivers through hands-on activities, art, stories, games, and journaling. This camp runs Monday, June 14 - Friday, June 18. Camp will begin at 9:00 am and end at 11:30 am daily. This camp is only for children that are completing 1st or 2nd grade in the spring of 2021. **We will actively explore the outdoors. Expect that your child may be dirty or wet when you pick them up (including Monday)** Registration will begin May 3rd at 6 pm, and end on May 28th at 9 am. Please sign up for only one of the Waterbugs: Wild Water Camps.

    Discover what makes a habitat through exploration, games, and song. Campers connect to the world around them by investigating the five basic needs of all living things. Please bring water and a snack, and dress for the weather. Masks are recommended. This camp runs Monday, June 14 - Friday, June 18. Camp will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 3:30 pm daily. This camp is only for children that are completing kindergarten in the spring of 2021. Registration begins May 3rd at 6 pm and runs until May 28th at 9 am. Confirmation letter will be sent upon registration with additional information.
