Annual 4 mile snowshoe and trail run

Come explore some of central Iowa’s most scenic trails in the fourth annual Trek the Trails!  This four mile trail event will trek through Story County Conservation’s McFarland Park, across prairie, woodland, and along the Skunk River.  Be prepared – there will be hills!

You’ll not only be enjoying a fun trek through McFarland Park, your proceeds will go toward the development and maintenance of Story County Conservation trails.

The trail run will have two categories:
1. Snowshoe participants and
2. Those wearing running or trail shoes with or without traction devices (like MICROspikes).

No dogs on the race course please.

All events will begin and end at the Story County Conservation Center where hot drinks, a hot lunch, and warm, indoor seating will await finishers & volunteers. Final results will be posted on our website and Facebook pages.

The awards ceremony will be held around 11:30 a.m.  There will be prizes for the overall male and female finishers in each category and special awards for the top finishers in each age bracket including Masters.
