Rural Townships
Townships are special district governments in rural areas that provide limited functions that are outside the scope of both county and municipal authority.  The three main functions of townships are as follows:
  • Fire protection
  • Cemetery management
  • Fence maintenance and boundary dispute resolutions within the township.

Townships must submit yearly budgets to the County Auditor.
