Voter Pre-Registration Deadline: Friday, March 23, 5 p.m. (Voter Registration Form)

Absentee Voting (in person): Voting in the Auditor's Office begins Monday, March 5, and will be available during regular business hours until 5 p.m., Monday, April 2.

Absentee Voting (by mail):
 The first day that ballots will be mailed is Monday, March 5. The last day to request a ballot by mail is Friday, March 23. The request must be received in the Auditor's Office by 5 p.m. that day. Please note below the election laws for absentee voting which became effective on Jan. 1, 2018.

The returned ballot must be postmarked by Monday, April 2, or returned to the Auditor's Office by the close of polls on Election Day (8 p.m., April 3). (Absentee Ballot Request Form)

On the request form, mark "Special" under type of election, and fill in the election date (04/03/2018) in the proper area.


Election Day Registration
As of January 1, 2008, Iowa law allows you to register to vote on Election Day at the polling place for the precinct where you currently reside. You will be required to show proof of residence and proof of identity.

Absentee Voting
ELECTION LAW CHANGES FOR 2018 - ABSENTEE VOTING
(1) Your absentee request form MUST include an ID number. The two acceptable numbers are your Iowa driver's license number, or the 4-digit PIN on the new voter ID card.
(2) Request forms will not be accepted more than 120 days prior to the election.
(3) Absentee voting can begin no more than 29 days prior to the election.
(4) The deadline to request a mailed ballot is 11 days prior to the election (10 days for a General election).
NOTE: The request must still be received in the Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. on the final day.
