Election Day Registration
As of January 1, 2008, Iowa law allows you to register to vote on Election Day at the polling place for the precinct where you currently reside. You will be required to show proof of residence and proof of identity.

Absentee Voting (in person): Voting in the Auditor's Office will begin at a date yet to be determined, and will be available during regular business hours until 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Absentee Voting (by mail):
 The last day to request a ballot by mail is Friday, Feb. 3. The returned ballot must be postmarked by Monday, Feb. 6, or returned to the Auditor's Office by the close of polls on Election Day (Feb. 7). (Absentee Ballot Request Form)
On the request form, mark "Special" under type of election, or fill in the election date (02/07/2017) in the proper area.

A poll watcher is a person who has official permission to be at the polling place on election day to observe the election process and to challenge voters that the poll watcher believes are not qualified to vote.
