  1. Trail Word Scramble

    September 10, 2020 - September 23, 2020

Visit a new trail, or revisit a well worn one to unscramble a word. Posts with letters will be placed along trails in Story County Conservation areas. The letters will be out of order and need to be unscrambled to make a word. The picture that the word has been printed on, is the clue for the word. Every week a new map will be emailed to you with the next location of a new word adventure! Each word will stay out for two weeks. Sign up to have this sent to you and have fun exploring!

  2. Monarch Madness

    September 16, 2020, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ McFarland Park

Come witness the miracle that is Monarch Migration! Each year these tiny creatures fly all the way to Mexico for the winter. We will talk about why they do this and catch and tag some monarch butterflies that are passing through! Fee is $5/person (kids are free). No more than 4 children per 1 adult. Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to the ongoing development of COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation and face coverings mandatory when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
