    Explore McFarland Park and discover nature up close on these guided walks. Many hikes are on the calendar - come to one or come to many! These hikes are free but you must pre-register. *Masks are required Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to the ongoing development of COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation and face coverings mandatory when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.

  3. Fall Foliage Walk

    October 29, 2020, 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM @ Soper's Mill (North and South)

    Take a stroll with others and appreciate the changing fall colors at Soper's Mill. We'll meet at 56364 170th Street, Ames. The hike will end in a picnic of whatever the hikers bring to share. Registering will help us plan. hike will be canceled if the weather is unsafe. Please leave your dog at home. This is led by an Outdoor Alliance of Story County volunteer.
