April 22, 2018, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ McFarland Park
Celebrate Earth Day by hiking the trails at McFarland Park with Conservation Board member Nancy Franz. We’ll be learning a bit about the ecosystems in the park as we hike, picking up litter, and discussing how to improve and protect the earth on this important day. Please come prepared for a medium paced 1-2 mile walk on varied terrain including clothing for a variety of weather conditions, a water bottle, and snacks.
April 22, 2018, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Robison Wildlife Acres
This hike has been CANCELED due to lack of spring wildflowers! Celebrate Earth Day with a hike through Robison Wildlife Acres. The beautiful woodland wildflowers are some of the best of all of Story County Conservation areas. Look for the many signs of spring and learn about the restoration projects taking place in the park. This is a moderate hike suitable for most families. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. You may also want to bring binoculars and water. In case of bad weather, this events will be canceled. This program is free but registration is required by 9am on Friday, April 20.
