    If you enjoy biking, hiking, horseback riding, or canoeing in Story County, consider joining the Story County Trails Advisory Committee. Come share your ideas or perhaps volunteer to improve SCC's trail system. Monthly meetings are held the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the conservation center.

    Join us for a unique learning experience! Upper Story Studio artist Molly Nagel will provide a step-by-step painting instruction while you sip hot cocoa. We will be painting, so dress to get paint on your clothes! This family-friendly program is designed for ages 8 and up. Fee of $15 per person with registration is required by 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 22.

    *This program has been canceled* Fermenting foods is a great way to preserve your harvest while providing health benefits to your family. It is easy to do, increases nutrition, and increases the digestibility of foods. Simple recipes will be shared, including sauerkraut, gingered carrots, and kefir. You will also get to sample some fermented foods! Fee of $5 with registration is required by 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 22.

  4. Diversify Your Landscape and Eat Your Yard

    We have been working for our yards for years; now is the time to make our yards work for us! Learn how to put in place a more edible landscape, with an emphasis on plants that are suited to our climate. Nicole Jonas from Red Granite Farms will be present to help answer questions and give design advice, so bring your creativity and culinary needs! There will be door prizes to help you get started on your edible landscape! Registration and fee of $5 per person is required by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
