    September 22 - September 24 @ Hickory Grove Park

    Wild Women of the Woods gives women the opportunity to explore the outdoors, learn new skills, and network with like-minded women. The fifth annual Wild Women of the Woods event will take place September 22-24 at Hickory Grove Park. Participants can opt to camp out and will choose from many different sessions including Tree ID, Wild Edibles, Fly Fishing/Tying, Djembe Drumming, Survival Snares, Advocacy101, Creating Spice Blends, Wood Burning, Healing Massage, Soul Collage, Wild Floral Arrangements, Backyard Urban Farming, Hiking and Hygiene, Go Birding, Edible Landscaping, and much, much more! *NOTE* - The following sessions are already full: - P. & U.: Introduction to Firearms and Basic Shooting (two parts) - V.: Before You Start Her Up - Chainsaw Operation and Maintenance

  2. Prairie Seed Harvest

    September 24, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Doolittle Prairie

    Help conservation staff collect prairie seed at Story County's hidden gem, Doolittle Prairie. We'll show you what to collect and provide information about the plants around you as you work. Long pants, sturdy shoes, and bug spray are recommended. Registration is required by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22.
