    March 7, 2017, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Conservation Center

Come hear the first-person portrayal of Neta Snook given by Rosemary Harris who tells the story of a fearless and forgotten aviator who was the first female ever accepted into flying school and to run a commercial airfield. Though not an Iowan native, Neta did get her education in Ames, and achieved a long list of firsts in the aviation field. Perhaps her most memorable yet often overlooked achievement was teaching Amelia Earhart to fly. Register for lunch by 4pm, Friday, March 3. Menu: beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, dinner roll, and apple crisp.
