O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors): Honey Bees in Iowa

Tuesday, October 3, 2017

O.W.L.S. programs are designed for "boomers" or older, but anyone can attend. No registration is required unless you would like to attend the optional luncheon that follows the program for just $7.50. If you would rather not register online, call our office at 515.232.2516. The 2017 Iowa Honey Queen, Carly Raye Vannoy, will be sharing about honeybees, honey, beekeeping, and beyond during her presentation. Participants will learn about the superorganism of honeybees, how bees make mummies, the strange use of beehives in medieval Europe, the color of mystery honey, and so much more! Come find out why we want to save the bees, and how we can make that happen! Menu: Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwiches w/ Homemade Roll, Potato Salad, Baked Beans and Apple Crisp (Register and pay for lunch by September 29)
