Lobbying Disclosure

Story County pays annual membership dues and participates in organizations that lobby state and federal legislatures. Story County works in conjunction with these agencies to develop law-making priorities and promote the development of sound policies affecting county government. These agencies in turn work with elected legislators at the state and federal level to insure the interests of Story County, its' citizens and the services they rely on are well represented.

Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC)

The Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) is a private, nonprofit corporation. ISAC members are elected and appointed county officials from all 99 counties. ISAC's mission is to promote effective and responsible county government for the people of Iowa. ISAC's vision is to be the principal, authoritative source of representation, information and services for and about county government in Iowa.

Story County paid $5,800 for Membership Dues to ISAC in Fiscal Year 2018.

National Association of Counties (NACo)

The National Association of Counties (NACo) is the only national organization that represents county governments before the Administration and Congress. NACo provides essential services to the nation's 3,068 counties.
