Veteran Commission Members

Overview

The Story County Commission of Veterans Affairs is a five-member commission.

1. Pat Peakin, Commissioner: July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2021 (Colo)

Pat has lived in the Colo area his whole life. He has been married to his wife Linda for over 40 years, and they have three married children and seven grandchildren. Pat served in the U.S.Navy on board the USS Richmond K. Turner (DLG 20) a Guided Missle Frigate in the Navigation department. He served on board from September 1969 to May of 1971.

2. Amy Rosenberg, Commissioner: July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2021 (Nevada)

Amy grew up in Nevada and after high school spent four years in the U.S. Navy on board the Aircraft Carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln. During her enlistment she served as an Aviation Boatswain's mate working in the arresting gear. She completed a ten-month WestPac in 2003. Amy came back to Nevada after her enlistment, and she lives there now with her husband Nick and two daughters. She served as the Public Relations Officer for AMVETS Post 62 out of Cambridge for 6 years.

3. Ali Wilcox, Commissioner: May 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020 (McCallsburg)

Ali is a United States Navy Veteran. She is originally from Missouri and is a mother of three. She is a firm believer in the importance of Mental Health and plans to serve as a Commissioner offering real support to Story County Veterans and their families. She will work with the visions of the Commission and is excited to help close gaps that Veterans may have between the VA, the Veteran, and their family.

4. Nicolas Briseño, Commissioner: July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2022 (Ames)

5. Luke Vance, Commissioner: July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2022 (Sheldahl)

Luke enlisted in the US Army Reserves during high school and has been serving for 10 years, currently at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He has had one tour of duty in Iraq. As a lifelong resident of Sheldahl, Luke has a desire to help bridge the gap with younger Veterans in Story County.
