Story County Conservation's team of naturalists offer public programs throughout the year. In addition to information and updates on various conservation topics, many programs provide opportunities to try new activities or hobbies like paddle boarding, snowshoeing, mushroom cultivation, birding, geocaching, and more!
Browse and register for all of our upcoming public programs or other events by clicking on our events calendar.
Some of our public programs might only be offered once, others are held annually, and some are recurring.
O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier Souls) programs are held the first Tuesday of each month (September - June) starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Story County Conservation Center at McFarland Park, 56461 180th St., northeast of Ames. OWLS programs are cancelled for the remainder of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
